Ministers of Youth Affairs of Islamic countries will gather in Kazan

From 27 to 30 August Kazan (Russia) will host the Kazan Global Youth Summit.

 

The Summit will be attended by 200 people: Ministers of Youth Affairs and Sports of the OIC countries, leaders of youth organizations, representatives of international organizations involved in youth policy, opinion leaders, influencers, young entrepreneurs and representatives of the scientific community.

 

Kazan Global Youth Summit will become a platform for bringing young people and stakeholders together, contributing to the involvement of young people in processes of youth policy development at the local, regional and global levels.

 

The Summit will be held as part of the Kazan – OIC Youth Capital 2022 international program. Through Kazan Global Youth Summit, young leaders and decision makers in youth policy will have the chance to be part of a global network dedicated to promoting effective work with youth and youth policy making.

 

The Summit program is designed for 4 days on (27-30) August 2022, and consists of ministerial plenary session, panel discussions, interactive workshops, the presentation of a research survey on youth recommendations for solving common social issues, and cultural program. On 28-29 August, the Summit will begin with around 8 simultaneous workshops (50 participants in each). These workshops aim at giving the participants the opportunity to introduce new ideas, share their experiences, and encourage them to further explore and promote the best practices to find solutions and new methods to generate better communities and environments.

 

The outcome of the Summit will be the Research of Modern Youth, as well as the adoption of the Joint Resolution and the Kazan Action Plan, which will form the basis of joint youth initiatives and long-term cooperation programs in OIC countries.

Who can apply:

 

• Youth from OIC member countries, Russia, and Muslim minorities in non-OIC countries;
• Leaders of youth associations, representatives of international organizations responsible for youth, young leaders, young entrepreneurs;
• Age from 18 to 35 years;
• English proficiency is required.

 


Main Agenda of the Summit:


The role of youth in the development of intercultural dialogue and self-identity, the youth engagement on local and global levels. The summit will focus on the following subtopics;


1. Equality of opportunities
2. Entrepreneurial skills
3. Mental Health
4. Intercultural dialogue
5. Youth Migration
6. Digitalization

 


The organizers and partners of the Summit are: Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, Ministry of Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan, Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries (SESRIC), the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, Tatarstan Republican Youth Public Fund "Selet".

OIC Youth Capital is a status awarded to a city for one year. The status allows the city to implement major international youth events with the involvement of leading experts and leaders of the Islamic world, as well as it gives young people the opportunity to realize their potential at the international level, and also promotes the city in the international arena as a center for fulfilling the potential of young people and their innovative ideas.


In November 2021, at a meeting of the Board of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation Youth Forum, a decision was made to award the city of Kazan with the status of "Youth Capital - 2022". This status has been assigned for the first time to a Russian city, located in an OIC observer country. 10 international youth events are planned within the framework of the program of the OIC Youth Capital.
