The ceasefire regime is observed in Nagorno-Karabakh, the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Igor Konashenkov, said this at a briefing on Monday.
"The ceasefire is being observed along the entire line of contact," Konashenkov said.
According to him, in the areas of the peacekeeping operation along the line of contact, the installation of observation posts of Russian peacekeepers has been completed. They are monitoring the situation around the clock.
"The peacekeeping units monitor compliance with the ceasefire and all combat operations at nine observation posts in the southern zone of responsibility and nine more in the northern zone. There are seven temporary observation posts in the Lachin corridor (along the road Zabukh - the state farm Lysogorsky - Zarysly), ensuring the passage of military convoys of the peacekeeping units," Konashenkov said.
Peacekeepers relocating
The department added that more than 140 flights for the transfer of peacekeepers and equipment had been made by the aircraft of the Russian Air Force from November 10.
"A total of 140 flights have been performed since November 10, 2020. Over the past 24 hours 20 flights have been made," Konashenkov said.
According to the official representative of the military department, IL-76 and An-124 aircraft are used to transfer personnel, military equipment and materials of the peacekeeping contingent.
Konashenkov added that the headquarters of the Russian peacekeeping contingent was now deployed in Stepanakert and the peacekeeping operation was managed from its command post. In accordance with a presidential decree, the Russian Defense Ministry organized the formation of the Interdepartmental Center for Humanitarian Response in Nagorno-Karabakh, and interaction with the local administration on the issues of its activities was organized.
In order to carry out peacekeeping tasks and prevent possible incidents, continuous interaction with the general staff of the armed forces of Azerbaijan and Armenia is carried out through direct channels of communication. "Information about the operational situation and activities of the Russian peacekeeping forces is constantly updated in a special section of the Russian Ministry of Defense website," Konashenkov said.
Road demining
Konashenkov also noted that military experts on Monday inspected and demined 1 km of the Stepanakert - Goris road, as well as removed from the roadway and roadsides 27 units of broken and damaged equipment.
"Mine clearance and continuous cleaning of the area from explosive objects in the Lachin corridor is underway. Today, 1 km of the Stepanakert-Goris road has been inspected and demined, 27 pieces of broken and damaged equipment have been removed from the carriageway and roadsides," Konashenkov said.
Return of Refugees
The Ministry of Defense reported that over 470 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh on Sunday.
"On November 15 this year, 475 refugees returned to Nagorno-Karabakh from the territory of the Republic of Armenia accompanied by Russian peacekeeping forces and military police patrols," Konashenkov said.
According to the official representative of the Ministry of Defense, a total of 725 people who had previously left the territory of Nagorno-Karabakh because of hostilities have returned to their places of residence since November 14.
As Konashenkov specified, the exchange of bodies of the dead continues. "It is carried out under the coordination of the peacekeeping forces of the Russian Federation and the International Committee of the Red Cross," the military representative added.
