Ministry of Defense told about monitoring center in Karabakh

Russia and Turkey have reached an agreement on a joint center to control the ceasefire in Nagorno-Karabakh, with equal staff from the two countries, said the official representative of the Russian Defense Ministry, Major General Igor Konashenkov.


Earlier, the Turkish Defense Ministry reported that it had signed an agreement with Russia to establish a joint monitoring center in Nagorno-Karabakh to control the ceasefire.


"In accordance with the memorandum signed on November 11 between the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation and the Ministry of National Defense of the Republic of Turkey, an agreement was reached on the procedure of deployment and operation of the Joint Russian-Turkish Center to control the ceasefire and all military operations. The Center will be located on the territory of Azerbaijan. The number of Russian and Turkish personnel in the organizational structure of the Joint Center will be equal," he said.
