Opposition to the glorification of Nazism and the preservation of historical truth remains Russia's duty to future generations. The Authorized Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation on Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law Grigoriy Lukjancev announced about it.
“Any attempt to falsify history, revise the results of the Second World War, attempts to glorify Nazism, [attempts] to belittle and deny the feat of those who gained this great victory, we literally pass through ourselves. Preserving historical truth is our common duty to present and future generations”, he mentioned.
The diplomat also recalled that the European Parliament had earlier adopted a resolution to combat the glorification of Nazism, and hoped that the document would help the European Union to stop "silencing existing problems, ignoring the alarming and extremely negative trends in the EU space that are associated with the glorification of Nazism and falsification of history".
