Ministry of Health denied information about the access of the Russian elite to the coronavirus vaccine

Clinical trials of vaccines developed at the  Gamalei Center against the new coronavirus infection have not been completed, it has not been released into civil circulation, and its use, including for the elite and business, is impossible, said assistant Minister of Health of the Russian Federation Alexey Kuznetsov.


As previously reported by Bloomberg, a number of Russian businessmen and political figures since April 2020, allegedly had access to the vaccine for coronavirus infection, which was being developed by the Gamalei National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology of the Ministry of Health of Russia.

 


"Currently, clinical trials of two forms of the vaccine developed by the Gamalei research center are continuing. The vaccine was given to volunteers who were officially included in the trials. After the tests are completed, the issue of its state registration will be decided in accordance with the legislation. At the moment, the vaccine has not been released into civil circulation, its use outside of clinical research is impossible, " he said.


The second phase of testing of the Russian coronavirus vaccine, which was developed at   Gamalei Center, will be completed on August 3, said last Thursday the head of the RDIF Kirill Dmitriev. According to him, regulatory approval for the use of the Russian vaccine is expected in August - September 2020. The third phase of clinical trials will be conducted not only in Russia but also in a number of other countries, including the Middle East.
