Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin and Egyptian Youth and Sports Minister Ashraf Subhi signed an agreement on cooperation between the agencies. It is reported by the press service of the Ministry of Sports of Russia.
The meeting took place on Sunday in Cairo. During the meeting, the sides discussed organizing exhibition matches in squash, soccer and handball, including at the university level, as well as holding joint sports events during the Year of Humanitarian Cooperation between Egypt and Russia.
"Sports set an example of how important unity, respect for one's partners, the ability to play by the rules and support each other are," Matytsin said. - "The Presidents of Russia and Egypt during their repeated meetings have defined the strategy and constructive vectors for the development of bilateral relations between our states. Egypt and Russia have a long history of relations. Today's meeting is a demonstration that only together, sharing experience, we will be able to overcome this difficult period in the life of the world community".
In the next two days Matytsin will take part as a vice-president in the meeting of the Presidium of the Seventh Session of the Conference of the Parties to the International Convention against Doping in Sport. The meeting will take place in Riyadh.
