Tatarstan is actively working to expand economic ties with the Islamic world, and the KazanSummit platform allows to annually evaluate the results of this work. President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov claimed about it, speaking at the plenary meeting of the XIth International Economic Summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit 2019".

Today, he noted, the Islamic economy is an integral part of the global economy. The total volume of its assets is estimated at more than $ 4.5 trillion. In the next five years, according to experts, this figure will reach $ 7 trillion.

This growth is due to the fact that Islamic financial mechanisms are attracting more and more business circles in Europe, North America and Asia.

Specifically, Minnikhanov focused on the work being done in this direction under the auspices of the Group of Strategic Vision "Russia-Islamic World", which the President of Tatarstan heads on behalf of Vladimir Putin.

According to Minnikhanov, the main task of the Group is to facilitate the process of further rapprochement between Russia and the Islamic world.

Over the past year, visits were made to Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Egypt, Tunisia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan.

“Visits and meetings at the highest level create good opportunities for forming in the countries of the Muslim world a true picture of the position of Islam and Muslims in Russia, strengthening the economic cooperation of our country and the Islamic world”.
