Minnikhanov Holds Meeting with Acting Afghan Foreign Affairs Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi

Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Amir Khan Muttaqi, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, at the Kazan Kremlin. Muttaqi's visit to Kazan was in conjunction with his participation in the 5th meeting of the Moscow format of consultations on Afghanistan.

 

During their meeting, they discussed various aspects of cooperation within the framework of Russian-Afghan relations.  Minnikhanov emphasized the significance of establishing conditions for progressive development and addressing humanitarian concerns.

 

Minnikhanov also mentioned his role as the head of the Group of Strategic Vision  "Russia - Islamic World,"  by the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin. The group's primary objectives include promoting cultural and civilizational ties between Russia and the Islamic world, fostering economic cooperation, and expanding partnerships involving youth and public organizations.

 

He highlighted Tatarstan's active collaboration with Islamic countries and members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

 

Amir Khan Muttaqi, in response, emphasized modern Afghanistan's considerable potential for economic collaboration, as well as opportunities in trade and investment.
