10 April

A namaz on the occasion of the holiday of Eid al-Fitr with the participation of the Rais of the Republic of Tatarstan, Chairman of the GSV “Russia - Islamic World” Rustam Minnikhanov was held in the Galeevsky Mosque in Kazan on April 10, 2024. Rais of Tatarstan came to the festive namaz with his son Iskander.

The festive namaz was also attended by the Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan, Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin, mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin, chief kazy of the Republic of Tatarstan Jalil hazrat Fazlyev, imam-khatib of the Kazan mosque “Marjani” Mansur hazrat Dzhalaletdinov and others, as well as Hero of Russia Rasim Baksikov.

Kamil hazrat Samigullin read out congratulations on the occasion of the holiday on behalf of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and of the Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov.

“I cordially congratulate the Muslims of Russia on the holiday of Eid al-Fitr, which marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan. For centuries, Eid al-Fitr has embodied for followers of Islam the joy of renewal, the desire for moral improvement, purity of thoughts and actions. Muslims of Russia carefully preserve the rich historical, cultural, religious traditions of their ancestors and, following the behests of their fathers, celebrate this holiday in their communities and family circles, and provide assistance to those in need”, - says the congratulation from Russian President Vladimir Putin.

The President also noted the contribution of Muslim organizations that actively participate in patriotic, educational and charitable initiatives, pay priority attention to the education of the younger generation, provide support to the participants of the SMO and their families, and also make a great contribution to strengthening the cohesion of the multinational people of Russia and preserving national harmony.

“I wish the Muslims of Russia health, success and all the best”, - Vladimir Putin wished.

The Rais of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in his congratulations emphasized that Eid al-Fitr reminds of the inviolability of the Divine universe and traditional values, among which one of the most important places is occupied by religious ideas about family and the sacred gift of motherhood. According to the Rais of Tatarstan, this wonderful holiday, which has become an integral part of the spiritual culture of the Tatar nation, is filled with new meanings during the Year of the Family, celebrated in the country, declared by Russian President Vladimir Putin.

Rustam Minnikhanov called the thousands of Republican Iftar, which has gathered fellow believers for the twelfth time, a confirmation of the spiritual unity of the Muslims of Tatarstan and the desire to strengthen the domestic ummah and our entire society. Veterans of the special military operation, their relatives, as well as family members of fallen servicemen also took part in the iftar. “Let the prayers offered in the month of Ramadan for victory, recovery of the wounded and for the repose of the souls of dead soldiers be accepted by the Almighty”, - wished Rustam Minnikhanov.

The Rais of Tatarstan recalled the landmark international events planned in Kazan this year, which will serve to strengthen cooperation between the Russian Federation and the Islamic world countries. Rustam Minnikhanov expressed hope that common efforts will give a new impetus to the development of friendly, mutually beneficial contacts both at the level of interstate and religious-social relations.

In addition, the Rais of Tatarstan expressed his conviction that the celebration of Eid al-Fitr will add optimism to everyone, self-confidence, and encourage new achievements in the name of Allah, our common Fatherland and native republic.

“I sincerely wish everyone happiness, goodness and prosperity! Let the Almighty fill our souls with faith, strength, mercy and love!”, - Rustam Minnikhanov also wished.

Mufti of Tatarstan Kamil hazrat Samigullin, in a sermon on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr, shared his understanding of the meaning of a special military operation and its connection with life within the country.

“Many thanks to our leaders for their congratulations. Today they face very difficult tasks: on the one hand, to protect the borders of our country from enemies, on the other, to protect our society from moral decay”, - said the chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Republic of Tatarstan.

“These two tasks are strongly interconnected: if we lose in one, then we lose in the other. The enemies need not only Russia's wealth, but also its spirit. Therefore, we have only one way to complete a special military operation - this is victory! Our soldiers are fighting not only for territory, but also for our spiritual values. We live a peaceful life here, and they give their lives for us with weapons in their hands. Nothing compares to that kind of dedication. We are deeply indebted to them”, - Kamil hazrat added.

“So let’s not upset them with our immorality, ingratitude, and disunity. The best support for them is our unity and the preservation of spiritual values. Then we will be a reliable rear for them”, - he emphasized.

“And the family preserves spiritual values. Religion and nation, morality begin with the family. Our God entrusts us to take care of our family. Therefore, President Putin made a wise decision by declaring the Year of the Family in Russia. Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr are, in essence, a holiday of family and morality, something that strengthens ties of kinship”, - the mufti expressed confidence.

At the end of Kamil's hazrat Samigullin sermon, the gathered Muslims performed a festive namaz.
