Mirziyoyev and Manturov discuss preserving dynamics of trade turnover between Uzbekistan and Russia

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov who is in Tashkent and discussed with him maintaining the dynamics of trade turnover between the two countries, the press service of the Uzbek leader said on Tuesday.


"Special attention [at the meeting] was paid to maintaining the dynamics of trade turnover and deepening industrial cooperation in the priority sectors of the economy," the statement reads.


It noted that the sides discussed issues of further development of practical partnership between the regions of the two countries and filling the agenda of interaction with specific projects. As an example, a joint project on launching a technology park in the Jizzakh region was cited. Mirziyoyev and Manturov stressed the importance of preparation and implementation of investment projects in such priority areas as energy, machine building, agriculture, textile industry, pharmaceuticals and other sectors.


"Interest in introducing Russian experience in supporting industrial production and the need to strengthen institutional mechanisms for promoting joint projects were also noted," the press service added.


According to the press service of Uzbekistan's president, Manturov is leading the Russian delegation at the "Innoprom. Central Asia" international industrial exhibition taking place in Tashkent.
