Presidents of Uzbekistan and the Russian Federation Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Vladimir Putin discussed the prospects of bilateral relations in a telephone conversation. This was reported on Thursday by the press service of the head of Uzbekistan.
"The heads of state discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-Russian relations of strategic partnership and alliance," the press service noted. It is noted that the sides exchanged views on the situation in Central Asia in the light of recent events in Kazakhstan, expressed support for the leadership of this country and measures to restore peace and stability in it.
According to the press service, the presidents noted with satisfaction the implementation of previously reached bilateral agreements at the highest level, the intensive exchange of delegations and the development of multilateral relations in the interregional format, including in the cultural and humanitarian sphere and other areas. Also stressed the importance of holding events to mark the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
