President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has announced that mutual trade among Central Asian countries has increased by 2.5 times, signaling the region's progress in enhancing cooperation.
"Mutual trade among the regional countries has increased by 2.5 times, and the count of joint ventures has risen by fivefold," he stated while addressing the 78th session of the UN General Assembly in New York. He further emphasized that Central Asia is steadfastly advancing towards bolstering neighborly relations, stability, cooperation, and development.
According to the president, Uzbekistan and all its neighboring countries have successfully resolved issues related to state borders, transport corridors, and water usage.
"Our region is emerging as a hub for economic development, a vital transportation and communication link connecting the East and West, as well as the North and South. The interest in our region is steadily increasing," he emphasized.
