President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev, who initiated the constitutional reform in December 2021, proposed to hold a referendum on the draft of the new basic law. This was reported on Monday by the press service of the head of state.
"On the initiative of the commission, I propose to submit the draft developed by the parliament to the nationwide discussion and adopt it by referendum," Mirziyoyev said at a meeting of the constitutional commission.
