Mirziyoyev to visit Moscow in November

Uzbekistan's re-elected president Shavkat Mirziyoyev will pay his first international visit to Russia in November after the election, during which he intends to meet Russian president Vladimir Putin, deputy prime minister and minister of investment and foreign trade of Uzbekistan Sardor Umurzakov said during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on economic cooperation between the two countries.


"We are preparing very thoroughly for the high-level visit in November this year. We intend to fill the agenda of the visit with the most concrete and practical content <...> No doubt, the upcoming visit will be a milestone in the history of our partnership and will give a strong impetus to its development," the press service of the Ministry of economic development quotes Umurzakov.


The deputy minister also noted that the president and the government of Uzbekistan "give priority to deepening long-term allied relations with the Russian Federation".


In turn, the co-chairman of the intergovernmental commission, Russian minister of economic development Maxim Reshetnikov said that Russia and Uzbekistan have gained a good pace of cooperation. "Thanks to the intensity of the meetings, we find solutions that help businesses, our economies and the social sphere to develop," the MED's press service quotes Reshetnikov as saying.
