09 July 2020

Tatarstan's experience in creating a new infectious diseases building of a clinical hospital in the shortest possible time should be extended to the whole country,  Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said.

Prime Minister met with Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov on Thursday as part of his working trip to the Republic. Mishustin thanked the head of the region for organizing the visit of the government delegation.

"The situation was not easy in all regions of the country and, in particular, in Tatarstan. But today you showed how the Republic acted during the difficult situation of the pandemic. In particular, what we saw: in 72 days, the new infectious diseases building of the Agafonov Republican clinical hospital was built-this is an example of how it is possible to collect all the technologies, innovations and solve a very important issue to help people in these conditions. I think it is worthy of spreading and showing this project throughout the country, " Mishustin said at the beginning of the meeting.

A little later, the state adviser of the Republic, the first head of Tatarstan Mintimer Shaimiev joined the conversation between Mishustin and Minnikhanov. "Mintimer Sharipovich, good afternoon, dear. I am very happy to see you, " the head of the Cabinet said.

He greeted Shaimiev with a handshake, and they huged. The State Councilor of the Republic was wearing a mask. "I am not afraid,"  Prime Minister said with a smile, greeting the interlocutor. Mishustin already had the coronavirus.

"We met a little more than a year ago, you invited us to May 9, we were together at the parade, in good health. I would like to say that I am very happy to visit the Republic today. This is my first visit since the pandemic. Unfortunately, the situation related to the coronavirus did not allow us to travel to the regions. And here is the first region, " said Mishustin.

Prime Minister arrived in Tatarstan on a two-day working trip. This is his first trip to the Russian region after a nearly four-month break caused by the COVID-19 epidemic. Mishustin, who headed the Cabinet in mid-January, declared his intention to regularly personally visit the regions of the country to see the situation on the ground. However, the spread of the coronavirus interfered with the Prime Minister's travel schedule.

Before the introduction of the self-isolation regime, he managed to go to Veliky Novgorod and Kurgan in February, and a month later visited Pereslavl-Zalessky and Kostroma, both trips took place on the same day – March 13. In early June, the head of the Cabinet of Ministers announced that he and other officials would resume trips to problem regions of the country immediately after the removal of restrictions related to the coronavirus infection.
