Russia fully supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Belarus, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at a meeting with President of the Republic Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk on Thursday.

"In hospitable Minsk, we would like to emphasize that Russia fully supports the sovereignty, independence and territorial integrity of Belarus. For us, Belarus is our native country, and it is not only about historical, linguistic, and spiritual ties, but also about our hundreds of thousands or millions of citizens who are actually one people, and you have said this more than once," Mishustin said at a meeting with the President of Belarus.

Mishustin reported on progress on the future of the Union State of Russia and Belarus, which will be based on the independent position of the two countries. At the talks in Minsk, the Russian Prime Minister expects to discuss the entire bilateral agenda and agree on a meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Union State.

The Russian Prime Minister also conveyed greetings and best wishes from Russian President Vladimir Putin to Lukashenko.
