Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin is set to continue his diplomatic efforts in Baku, Azerbaijan, by engaging in talks with Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
Mishustin arrived in Baku the previous day and has already conducted a comprehensive meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart, Ali Asadov. During their discussions, both prime ministers expressed a keen interest in enhancing cooperation between their countries. Mishustin highlighted the significance of boosting mutual investments as a key area of focus.
The Russian prime minister also focused on unlocking economic and transportation ties in the South Caucasus, emphasizing Russia's commitment to promoting peace, stability, and prosperity in the region.
Following the meeting, several agreements were signed, including a roadmap for the development of bilateral tourism from 2024 to 2026. The Russian delegation, which included Deputy Prime Minister Alexei Overchuk, Transport Minister Vitaly Savelyev, Head of the Labor Ministry Anton Kotyakov, Director General of the Russian Export Center Veronika Nikishina, among others, was present.
To conclude the first day of his visit, Mishustin and Asadov paid a visit to Azerbaijan's National Carpet Museum, which showcases unique carpet artworks considered national treasures of the country.
