Mishustin told about allied relations between Russia and Kazakhstan

Russia values allied relations with Kazakhstan, there are a number of areas in which the countries can expand their cooperation, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said at talks with Kazakh Prime Minister Askar Mamin in Moscow.


"We always say that we sincerely value our allied relations with Kazakhstan, based on the historical friendship of our brotherly peoples, and our agenda is extensive, it is expanding. And there are, of course, opportunities for work in a number of new areas," Mishustin said.


Among promising industries, he singled out energy, peaceful nuclear power, mining and transport infrastructure. Mishustin also conveyed to his colleagues from Russian President Vladimir Putin the words of congratulations on the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence day.


"I want to congratulate you on the 30th anniversary of Kazakhstan's independence. Of course, to pass the warmest and sincerest congratulations and the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Kemelovich Tokayev and the first president, the leader of the nation Nursultan Abishevich Nazarbayev and from Russian President Vladimir Putin, and from me personally, and from all of us Russians," said Mishustin.


Trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan is developing very dynamically, with Moscow expecting record volumes of mutual trade in December, Mikhail Mishustin said at talks with Askar Mamin.


"I would like to note with satisfaction that trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Kazakhstan is developing very dynamically, we have already recorded with you that the trade turnover has returned to the growth trajectory, and in January-October its volume increased by a third and exceeded $20.5 billion. As we said, expected and reported to our presidents in December, we expect a record volume of mutual trade," Mishustin said.


Mishustin also said that during the talks with Mamin, the sides plan to discuss the challenges in healthcare and the challenges of the energy transition.
