More than 41,000 refugees returned to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh

Over 41 thousand refugees returned to their homes in Nagorno-Karabakh since the cessation of hostilities in the region. 457 refugees accompanied by Russian peacekeepers arrived in Stepanakert by buses from Yerevan in the last 24 hours. This was reported to journalists in the Russian Defense Ministry.


"Russian peacekeepers are monitoring the situation around the clock and controlling the observance of the ceasefire regime at twenty-three observation posts. More than 41 thousand refugees came back to Nagorno-Karabakh," the Defense Ministry said.


The Defense Ministry reports that Russian peacekeepers escorted a convoy of buses with refugees returning to Nagorno-Karabakh from Armenia. Soldiers of the peacekeeping contingent are ensuring a safe return to the places of their permanent residence, providing humanitarian assistance and restoring civil infrastructure.
