More than two thousand people were evacuated from Egypt to Moscow

The evacuation of Russian and CIS citizens from the Egyptian resorts of Sharm El-Sheikh and Hurghada has been completed. In total, as Yusup Abakarov, the head of the Consular Department of the Russian Embassy in Cairo, told RIA Novosti, more than two thousand people have been evacuated to Moscow on three flights since March 26.


"We have completed flights from Hurghada and Sharm El-Sheikh, now we will deal with Cairo: there are more than 350 people in the capital. We will now resolve this issue", the diplomat said, in particular.


According to the latest data, more than 600 cases of coronavirus infection were detected in Egypt, 40 people died.


Since March 25, Egypt has imposed a curfew from 19.00 to 6.00 local time (from 20.00 to 7.00 Moscow time) for a period of two weeks. International flights are suspended until April 15.
