In Baghdad, in the framework of the VIIIth session of the Russian-Iraqi Commission on Trade, Economic and Scientific-Technical Cooperation, Special Representative of the President of the Russian Federation for the Middle East and African countries, Deputy Foreign Minister of Russia Mikhail Bogdanov has met with Iraqi Foreign Minister Mohammed al-Hakim.
According to the Press Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation, the Diplomats have exchanged views on topical Middle Eastern issues with an emphasis on the development of the situation in Libya, Sudan, the Palestinian territories and key aspects of the Syrian settlement.
Special attention was paid to the issues of interaction of Russia with the League of Arab States, including taking into account the upcoming autumn presidency of Iraq in the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Arab League.
