Moscow and Baku are working on organizing production of Sputnik V in Azerbaijan

Russia and Azerbaijan are working on the issue of organizing the production of the Sputnik V vaccine in the republic. the materials prepared for the talks between the presidents of the two countries, Vladimir Putin and Ilham Aliyev, read.


"In 2021, at the request of the Azerbaijani side 220 thousand doses of the Russian vaccine Sputnik V were supplied. There are plans to supply an additional 80,000 doses. No new requests have been received. The organization of vaccine production in the republic is under consideration," the document says.


Moscow and Baku are actively developing cooperation on coronavirus issues. In spring 2020 Azerbaijan received 120 sets of Vector test systems (for 12,000 tests). In the summer of 2020, teams of doctors from the Burdenko Military Clinical Hospital, the Federal Medical and Biological Agency, the Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, and other leading medical institutions in Moscow and a number of Russian cities were sent to Azerbaijan.
