Russia and Egypt have reiterated their commitment to collaboration within the BRICS framework and other international organizations. This was emphasized during a meeting between Russian Ambassador to Cyprus Murat Zyazikov and Egyptian Ambassador Mohamed Shawki Zaazou, where they discussed bilateral and global issues, according to Zyazikov's statement to TASS.
"We had a warm and substantive discussion, highlighting the dynamic development of traditionally friendly Russian-Egyptian relations, fully aligned with the 2018 Sochi Treaty on Comprehensive Partnership and Strategic Cooperation," Zyazikov noted. He underscored the ongoing fruitful collaboration between Moscow and Cairo within BRICS and other international institutions.
The meeting also included an open exchange of views on pressing regional and international issues, with a focus on the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean and the Middle East.
Zyazikov added that both ambassadors reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining constructive diplomatic contacts between Russia and Egypt in Nicosia.
