Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin discussed the role of the world organization in the political settlement of the Libyan crisis on Friday at a meeting in Moscow with UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Libya Ján Kubiš.
"The conversation addressed the situation in Libya with a focus on the role of the UN in the political settlement of the crisis in this North African country. The Russian side confirmed its intention to work closely with the UN Support Mission led by Kubiš in Libya," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
On Thursday, Kubiš met with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov.
