The training seminars for military personnel of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) member-states were held in Moscow on the basis of the Military Academy of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, press secretary of the CSTO Joint Staff Vladislav Shegrikovich told TASS on Wednesday.
"In the period from July 12 to 13, a training and methodological gathering with the heads of basic training and methodological organizations for training military personnel for CSTO member states and basic research organizations of the CSTO in the field of research of military cooperation problems was held," the spokesman said.
During the training, a wide range of topical issues of improvement of the system of joint training of military staff was discussed and approaches in this direction were elaborated. According to the press secretary of the CSTO United Staff, participants of the meeting exchanged views on experience of training in joint groups according to the unified training programs and plans of highly qualified military personnel in the specialties necessary for the military formations of the CSTO collective security system.
Representatives of military education management bodies of the defense departments of the CSTO states, the Joint Staff and the organization's secretariat, management of the basic training, methodological and research organizations, and other military educational institutions participated in the event.
The CSTO Chief of the United Staff Anatoly Sidorov noted in his speech that joint training of military cadres and specialists is one of the priority areas of military cooperation within the organization. Joint training is carried out in Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan and Russia. "About 2,600 servicemen of CSTO member states are trained annually in 58 military educational institutions in more than 750 specialties in the joint training system," Sidorov said. - "During the years of cooperation in the interests of the CSTO about 20,000 servicemen were trained in universities of the CSTO member states".
He also informed about the organization of research work during joint exercises in the CSTO format. "They develop practical recommendations for solving problematic issues and determining directions for further development of coalition groupings of CSTO troops and their use," Sidorov noted.
In September 2021, a plan to improve the system of joint training of military personnel for the CSTO states was approved. The organization has established and successfully operates 11 basic training and methodological and seven research organizations. The Military Academy of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces is the basic organization in the field of training of personnel responsible for ensuring national security and defense capabilities of the CSTO member states.
