Muslim ambassadors to attend KazanSummit-2021

09 June 2021

Ambassadors of nine Muslim states have already confirmed their participation in the international economic summit "Russia - Islamic World: KazanSummit", which will be held this year in the capital of Tatarstan July 28-30, Talia Minullina, Head of the Tatarstan Investment Development Agency, told about it at the meeting of the leaders of the Group of Strategic Vision (GSV) "Russia - Islamic World" with the ambassadors of the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The speaker reminded that the Forum has been held for 12 years. During that time 72 countries have participated in the Forum. By comparison, said Minullina, the OIC includes 57 countries. This, in her opinion, testifies the interest of the international community in the event. Russian regions, which want to develop relations with Muslim states, participate in KazanSummit more and more actively.

The leitmotif of the summit this year will be conscious consumption and creation. By tradition, among the central themes - Islamic finance and partner banking, Halal industry, youth diplomacy, export development, entrepreneurship, investment, as well as the environment, information, etc.

In 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, Kazansummit was first postponed to a later date and then canceled. This year the forum will be held in a combined online and offline format. The offline events of the summit will take place on the territory of the Kazan Expo International Exhibition Center with strict observance of sanitary and epidemiological requirements.
