More than 4 thousand families from Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan received food aid from the Religious Board of Muslims of Russia, a statement published on the organization's website reports.

"As reported by Ildar Alyautdinov (Deputy Chairman of the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation on social issues, Mufti of Moscow and head of the Zakat charity fund-ed.), the assistance of Russian Muslims extended not only to Russia: food aid was also provided to at least 4,000 families (an average of 5 people) in Palestine, Syria, Yemen and Afghanistan," the report says.

The organization also notes that due to the economic consequences of the pandemic, "donors themselves often suffered huge losses".
