The head of the Spiritual Assembly of Muslims of Russia (SAMR) mufti Albir Krganov called for resources to be allocated to support and spread the Russian language, according to a message on the SAMR website.

Member of the Civil chamber Albir Krganov took part in the online conference "The Legacy of Cyril and Methodius at the crossroads of cultures: Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Serbia, Macedonia", held on the eve on the information platform of the Civil chamber of the Russian Federation, the SAMR specifies.

"Our many modern religious books are printed in Cyrillic. In the Caucasus and CIS countries, the Cyrillic alphabet has become widely available for communication. It is known that the UK spends huge sums to strengthen and spread the English language. And what are we doing, the Slavic and Turkic peoples? " Krganov said.

He stressed that language and writing are "the basis for preserving the people".

"Russian Muslims are no less interested in an objective study of our history and culture, which carry many more important discoveries. The Muslim-Christian dialogue is most pronounced in Russia. This friendship began thousands of years ago and has been tested by wars and troubles. One of the key factors of this friendship is, of course, a friendly dialogue, " the mufti concluded.
