First Deputy Chairman of the Russian Muftis Council (RMC) and the Religious Board of Muslims of the Russian Federation Rushan Abbyasov met with the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the King Hamad International Center for Peaceful Coexistence Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.
As noted on the website of the RMC, the meeting was also attended by the delegation of the Embassy of Bahrain in Russia.
Abbyasov welcomed the guests, noting that the relations between Muslims of Russia and Bahrain have been strengthened year after year, and shared the rich experience of Russian Muslims in maintaining the ideas of good-neighborliness.
An example of this is the recent signing of the memorandum "On mutual understanding and cooperation" between the Russian Muftis Council and the Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs of Bahrain.
Sheikh Khalid Bin Khalifa, in his turn, spoke about the activities of the King Hamad International Center for Peaceful Coexistence, in particular, about the conferences and symposiums and the objectives of the center aimed at establishing peace and peaceful coexistence in society.
The parties stressed the importance of establishing intercultural and interreligious dialogue at different levels and expressed confidence in the further development of relations between the peoples of Russia and Bahrain.
