Naryshkin: Arab World to Serve as Key Battleground for Shaping the New World Order in 2024

07 December 2023

The key  battleground for shaping a new world order in 2024 is anticipated to remain the Arab countries, where the globalist aspirations of the West are encountering significant resistance. This viewpoint was expressed by Sergei Naryshkin, the Director of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), in an article published in the "Razvedchik" magazine.

"The key battleground for shaping a new world order in 2024 will continue to be the Arab world," - he remarked. - "Here, we can observe most vividly the fractures in the aspirations of globalist elites to assume the role of a hegemon, a position they envisaged for themselves after the collapse of the USSR."

The author of the article highlighted the invasion of Iraq, the notorious "Arab Spring" that destabilized Libya and Yemen, the prolonged conflict in Syria, the rise of the banned terrorist group "Islamic State," and, ultimately, efforts to exacerbate Sunni and Shiite divisions in the Middle East. This list, the author argues, only scratches the surface of the "criminal manifestations of strategic thought in Washington and some other Western capitals."

The primary reason behind the failure of the West's one-sided and shortsighted policy is remarkably simple, according to Naryshkin. It is the "new and genuine awakening of the peoples of the Middle East, distinct from the infamous Arab Spring orchestrated by Washington a decade ago." This awakening is evident in the rise of strong, sovereign leaders in several Arab countries and the rapid growth of anti-American and, more broadly, anti-Western sentiments in the region.

"The reality of a multipolar world is something that the globalists cannot dismiss," - states the article. - "What appeared almost impossible yesterday—like the normalization of relations between Saudi Arabia and Iran, their inclusion, along with Egypt and the United Arab Emirates, in BRICS, and the reintegration of Syria into the 'Arab family'—is now an indisputable fact."

"Russia warmly welcomes and is committed to furthering the success of these processes to the best of its ability," - emphasized the SVR chief. - "The key takeaway is that this reflects a prevailing sentiment in the Arab world for a mutually acceptable resolution of conflicts, a collaborative exploration of solutions in the security sphere, and the establishment of predictable and constructive relations built on shared economic and humanitarian interests."
