Signals about terrorists' plans for Russia are received by special services regularly, huge experience has been accumulated, and the country is "quite reliable" protected from this evil, Director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin told reporters on Friday.

This is how he commented on a report by sources in the law enforcement agencies which stated that the banned organization Hayat Tahrir al-Sham* had targeted its supporters "for committing crimes in various cities of Russia in places of mass street events." For this purpose, according to sources, they select fighters from Russia or countries bordering it.

"We receive signals about certain plots, plans of militants, terrorists, members of terrorist organizations with a certain regularity," the head of the SVR said.

"But I would like to say that Russian special services and security agencies, first of all, the Federal Security Service, have accumulated a huge experience in fighting international terrorism, and it is fair to say that Russia is quite reliably protected from this evil," Naryshkin added.
