Naryshkin: NATO policy is the main threat to international security

07 July 2022

Sergey Naryshkin, director of Russia's Foreign Intelligence Service (SVR), called NATO policy the main threat and destabilizing factor for international security.

"The last 30 years show that this rather aggressive policy of the NATO bloc led by the United States is probably the main threat, the main destabilizing factor of international security," he told reporters Thursday, answering a question to TASS, after a joint meeting of the boards of the SVR and the State Security Committee of Belarus.

Naryshkin also noted that the recent NATO summit in Madrid showed that "the masks have been dropped." "It is obvious for us that the NATO bloc is waging such, one might say, hybrid warfare both against Russia and against our ally - the Republic of Belarus," he added.
