Nazarbayev says he feels fine after vaccination with Sputnik V

Kazakhstan's first president Nursultan Nazarbayev, who was vaccinated against the coronavirus by the Sputnik V vaccine, said he felt fine and advised everyone to be vaccinated by it. This was reported by Federation Council Speaker Valentina Matvienko, who met with Nazarbayev on Monday during an official visit to Kazakhstan.


"I asked him how he was feeling, he said no fever, no side effects, he was feeling fine and recommends everyone gets vaccinated with the Sputnik V vaccine," Matvienko told reporters.


"I hope that both our citizens and citizens of Kazakhstan will take advantage of this vaccine. Especially since production of the Sputnik V vaccine has already been opened at a pharmaceutical company in Karaganda," noted the Speaker of the Federation Council. She added that the current president and the prime minister of Kazakhstan have been vaccinated with this vaccine.


Matvienko's visit to Kazakhstan


Matviyenko's official visit to Kazakhstan will help strengthen relations between the two countries, Nazarbayev said.


"Russia is not only our good neighbor, but also a strategic partner. Your visit is not only a development of inter-parliamentary ties, but also a strengthening of inter-state relations," he added.


During the meeting, the first President of Kazakhstan noted the importance of further strengthening cooperation between the republic and Russia in all directions. In her turn, Matvienko congratulated Nazarbayev with the forthcoming Capital City Day on July 6 and the 30th anniversary of the independence of Kazakhstan celebrated this year.


On June 27-28, the delegation of the Federation Council headed by the Speaker of the House is on an official visit to Kazakhstan. The program of the trip included meetings with the country's leadership and parliamentarians, as well as an expanded meeting of the commission on cooperation between the Federation Council and the Senate (upper house) of the parliament of the republic.
