Russia is ready to assist African countries in strengthening their anti-crisis potential and expects that the Russia-Africa Summit, which will be held on October 23-24 in Sochi, will help stabilize the situation on the continent, Russia’s permanent representative at the United Nations Vasily Nebenzya told at the meeting of the UN Security Council devoted to measures to prevent conflicts in Africa.

"Russia will provide consistent political support to the African community to prevent and resolve African conflicts. We are ready to assist Africa in strengthening its own anti-crisis potential, including through the training of peacekeepers and representatives of law enforcement agencies of African States in Russian educational institutions. We hope that the upcoming first Russia-Africa Summit will become a catalyst for our interaction with African countries and will give impetus to the stabilization of the situation on the continent“, - TASS quoted a Russian diplomat as saying.

The leaders of all 54 countries of the African continent were invited to the Russia - Africa Summit and Economic Forum.
