Special Representative of the Russian President for the Middle East and Africa, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov held a meeting with the newly appointed Algerian Ambassador to Moscow, Boumediene Gennad, during which he received copies of his credentials. This information was confirmed by the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
"During the meeting, the parties discussed the further development of the deep strategic partnership between Russia and Algeria. They also addressed current topics on the international and regional agenda, including the situation in the Middle East, North Africa, and the Sahara-Sahel region," stated the Russian MFA.
Gennad succeeded Smail Benamar as the Algerian ambassador to Russia.
