The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia will have a new 42nd Department that will implement the state policy in the field of international information security.
The corresponding decree was signed by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
"Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a decree that creates the 42nd Department of the Russian Foreign Ministry. It will develop and implement state policy in the field of international information security, including the fight against the use of information technologies for military-political, terrorist and other criminal purposes," reads, in particular, a statement of the Russian Foreign Ministry on Facebook.
The new department will oversee the work of international organizations and forums in this area, as well as focus on international legal aspects of the use of the Internet.
