New Kyrgyz Ambassador presented copies of her credentials to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

On Tuesday, the new Kyrgyz Ambassador to Moscow, Gulnara-Clara Samat, presented copies of her credentials to Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.


"In the course of the meeting they discussed topical issues of Russian-Kyrgyz multifaceted cooperation and confirmed the mutual desire of the parties to further strengthen and expand bilateral cooperation in the spirit of strategic partnership and alliance," the Russian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.


In 2005-2006, Samat worked as an adviser at the Embassy of Kyrgyzstan in Russia. A year later she was appointed press secretary of the head of the Kyrgyz state. In 2007-2008 she was the chair of the Central Election Commission of the republic.


The former Kyrgyz ambassador to the Russian Federation, Alikbek Dzhekshenkulov,  resigned last fall.
