New Russian Ambassador to Tajikistan Semyon Grigoryev has begun his work in Dushanbe, the Russian diplomatic mission reported on Monday.
"On October 17, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Tajikistan Semyon Vyacheslavovich Grigoryev arrived in Dushanbe and started his work," the embassy said.
Russian President Vladimir Putin appointed Grigoryev Ambassador of Russia to Tajikistan on August 16, 2022, he replaced Igor Ljakin-Frolov, who served in this position for almost nine years. In his address to Tajikistanis and compatriots on the occasion of the completion of his diplomatic mission, Ljakin-Frolov noted that during his stay on the Tajik soil, ties between Russia and Tajikistan steadily developed and strengthened in all directions.
