Opening ceremony of the first Russian-Algerian exercises took place at the training range in North Ossetia

Russian and Algerian militaries took part in the opening ceremony of the first Russian-Algerian exercises at the Tarskoye training ground in North Ossetia on October 3. This was reported to reporters by the press service of the Southern military district (SMD).


"The opening ceremony of the first international Russian-Algerian exercises was held at the Tarskoe range of the SMD in North Ossetia. <...> The event was attended by representatives of the command of the Southern military district, the Algerian national people's army and the military orchestra of the Southern military district association," the report says.


After the solemn hoisting of the Russian and Algerian national flags and the playing of the national anthems of the two countries, Dmitry Uskov, commander of the motorized rifle unit of the 58th army, greeted the exercise participants and wished the soldiers successful cooperation at training ranges and at sea and expressed confidence that the exercises would strengthen the bilateral Russian-Algerian cooperation even more.


By the end of the year, servicemen from the Southern military district will take part in international exercises with units of the armed forces of Abkhazia, Armenia, Egypt, India, Kazakhstan, Pakistan and South Ossetia.
