Ousmane Sonko Appointed Prime Minister of Senegal

Senegalese President Bassirou Diomaye Faye has appointed Ousmane Sonko as the Prime Minister of Senegal, as reported by L'Agence de Presse Sénégalaise (APS).

 

Mary Teuw Niane has been appointed as the Chief of Staff of the President. According to APS, the composition of the Senegalese government will be announced in the very near future.

 

Sonko leads the African Patriots of Senegal for Work, Ethics and Fraternity (PASTEF) party. He was not admitted to the presidential elections held on March 24, which were won by the second person in the PASTEF hierarchy, Bassirou Diomaye Faye.
