Over 700 delegates from around the world to attend security conference in Moscow

More than 700 delegates from more than 70 countries will attend the 10th Moscow Conference on International Security, Russian Deputy Defense Minister Colonel General Alexander Fomin said Wednesday at a briefing for foreign military attachés.


"More than 700 delegates from more than 70 countries will take part in the conference. I would like to emphasize that experts will be represented from all, without exception, regions of the world," Fomin said.


He specified that in 2022 invitations were sent to representatives of 109 countries, including the heads of defense departments of 89 states and the heads of eight international organizations, 220 Russian and foreign security experts.


About the conference


The X Moscow Conference on International Security will take place on August 16 in Avangard educational and methodical center for military-patriotic education of youth in Patriot Park.


The forum has been held since 2012. During this time, the conference has become one of the most authoritative international discussion platforms on security issues, surpassing in its scale and number of participants similar events in other countries. At the first conferences, the number of participants was limited to 200-300 delegates, the 2019 forum was attended by over 1,000 delegates from 111 countries.


In different years, the delegates focused on the most pressing issues at the time of the event: security in the Middle East and North Africa, the phenomenon of color revolutions, countering international terrorism, the situation in Syria, the defeat of ISIS (former name of IS, banned in Russia), etc.
