Pakistan Supports UN Court Ruling Declaring Israel's Occupation Policy Illegal

23 July

Pakistan has expressed its support for the UN International Court of Justice's ruling that Israel's continued presence in the occupied Palestinian territories is illegal, according to a statement from Pakistan's Foreign Ministry.

"Israel is obliged to end its illegal occupation, cease illegal settlement activities, and compensate for the damage caused. The UN court ruling represents an important step towards ending the Israeli occupation, realizing the Palestinians' inalienable right to self-determination, and establishing a viable and secure State of Palestine based on the pre-1967 borders," the statement emphasized.

On July 19, the UN International Court of Justice issued an advisory opinion on the occupation of Palestinian lands. The document states that Israel must curtail its illegal presence in the territories, stop new settlement activities, and evacuate all settlers. Furthermore, Israel must pay reparations for the damage caused to all individuals and entities affected by the occupation of Palestinian land.
