07 September 2021

Islamabad and Moscow have established harmonious cooperation within the framework of the expanded "troika" on the situation in Afghanistan, if necessary, the parties can activate contacts of special services, Pakistani Ambassador to Russia Shafqat Ali Khan said in an interview with RIA Novosti.

"We have excellent cooperation with Russia - it is complete harmony in terms of common interests. And this has happened thanks to the positive evolution of our bilateral relations over the past decades. The trust we have gained allows us now to cooperate on Afghanistan: if there is a crisis, we can coordinate," the ambassador said.

"There is also a very good dialogue on the intelligence services. We have regular channels of communication. These contacts are developing very fruitfully. And if there is a need, these contacts and partnership will naturally intensify," said the ambassador.
