Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan plans to visit Russia in late February, The Express Tribune reported on Monday, citing Pakistani diplomatic sources.

"Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan is planning to visit Russia from February 23-25," the sources said. The publication notes that Imran Khan will be the first Pakistani head of government to visit Russia in more than two decades.

The Kremlin press service reported that during a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin on January 17, Imran Khan expressed broad support within the Pakistani society and the Muslim world in general for the statements of the Russian president at the annual press conference on December 23, 2021, that any action that is humiliating to any religious, national or social group under the pretext of freedom of expression is unacceptable.

At the end of the conversation, the Russian president and the Pakistani prime minister agreed to continue contacts.
