Sikandar Sultan Raja, Chief Election Commissioner of Pakistan, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to exchange experiences with Russian colleagues during his visit to Moscow. He also extended an invitation for Russian election observers to visit Pakistan.
"During our election period, we established 2,000 polling stations and printed over 2.5 million booklets," - Raja highlighted at the international conference "Electoral Sovereignty and International Standards," held at the Russian Central Election Commission. - "Our efforts were focused on educating the population about the elections and their rights as citizens."
Raja expressed his appreciation for being invited as election observers, stating, "We are grateful for this opportunity to share our experience. We also extend an invitation to our Russian colleagues to visit Pakistan as observers."
He further emphasized the critical role of the Election Commission in ensuring democratic elections in Pakistan, describing it as an "extremely important body" essential for the country's democratic process.
Russia's presidential elections are being conducted over three days from March 15 to 17, utilizing remote voting in about a third of the country's regions. The election features four candidates: Vladimir Putin, Vladislav Davankov, Leonid Slutsky, and Nikolai Kharitonov.
