Pakistan's interim Foreign Minister, Jalil Abbas Jilani, has described his meeting with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov as "the most important." This meeting took place on the sidelines of the 78th session of the UN General Assembly.
Jilani expressed his enthusiasm about the meeting, stating, "This is the most important meeting. Though any meeting with you is a great pleasure. And we are very happy with the way relations between our countries are developing." He also noted his previous visits to Moscow, to which Lavrov responded by extending an invitation for Jilani to visit Moscow in his new capacity as foreign minister.
Jilani assumed his role as Pakistan's interim foreign minister in mid-August.
