Pakistan's New Ambassador Presents Copies of Credentials to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister

03 October 2023

Pakistan's new Ambassador to Moscow Muhammad Khalid Jamali has formally presented copies of his credentials to Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko. This information was confirmed by the Pakistani diplomatic mission in Moscow.

"Pakistani Ambassador Muhammad Khalid Jamali visited Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko to deliver copies of his credentials," the embassy announced.

During the meeting, Jamali emphasized that maintaining excellent relations with Russia is one of Pakistan's foreign policy priorities. He also mentioned that during his farewell meeting, Pakistani President Arif Alvi had instructed him to further enhance bilateral relations with the Russian Federation.

The previous head of Pakistan's diplomatic mission, Shafqat Ali Khan, announced in mid-August that his diplomatic tenure in Russia would soon come to an end. He expressed satisfaction with the level of cooperation achieved in bilateral relations during his tenure (he had been appointed ambassador to Russia in March 2020).
