The Palestinian presidential spokesman, Nabil Abu Rudeineh, stated that the Israeli government's escalation of hostilities against the Palestinian people, initially seen in the Gaza Strip, has now extended to the West Bank and Jerusalem.
"Israel is extending its widespread aggression against the Palestinian population from the Gaza Strip to the West Bank and Jerusalem, with the intent to harm and displace as many Palestinians as possible," he was quoted by the WAFA news agency. Abu Rudeineh's comments coincide with extensive Israeli military operations in the West Bank, notably in the towns of Jenin and Nablus, resulting in dozens of casualties and injuries.
"The unwavering commitment of our people to their homeland remains resolute, regardless of the atrocities committed by Israel. Just as our fellow citizens in Gaza demonstrated resilience and thwarted attempts to displace the population, our community in the West Bank will persist in their homeland, continuing their struggle until the establishment of an independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital," emphasized the presidential spokesman.
Abu Rudeineh urged the US to "press the Israeli occupation government to cease its all-encompassing aggression against the Palestinian population." "Does bombing Jenin and its refugee camps with rockets, killing numerous individuals, including children and women, fall within the realm of self-defense, or does it constitute a brutal aggression involving genocide, murder, and the displacement of the population?" he questioned.
The spokesman appealed to "the forthcoming Arab and Islamic summits to make decisions that align with the severity of Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people and the atrocities inflicted upon them."
