Russia has provided Palestine with 20,000 tests to diagnose the coronavirus as part of its efforts to fight the pandemic, Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow, Abdel Hafiz Nofal said on Thursday at an online conference.

"We are grateful to all states, including Russia, for their assistance in this area. It provided us with 20,000 devices for diagnosing the disease. In this regard, we thank the Russian Federation, which gave us such devices for detecting sick people at a time when the whole world is facing this crisis, and we are protecting ourselves from the coronavirus on the one hand and from the occupation on the other," he said.

On Thursday, the Palestinian Health Ministry reported five new cases of infection in the Palestinian territories. A day earlier, 39 new cases were reported. Thus, the total number of infected people increased to 750; 570 patients recovered (about 76% of all cases), and 5 deaths were recorded. More than 68 thousand tests were performed to diagnose the coronavirus. From  May 30 to mid-June, the daily increase in infections in the Palestinian territories did not exceed a few cases.
