Russia and Palestine are in the process of arranging a visit by Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas to Moscow. This was confirmed by Palestinian Ambassador to Moscow, Abdel Hafiz Nofal, during a conversation with TASS.
"Yes, preparations for the visit are underway. We are in contact with the Russian side regarding this matter," he stated in response to an inquiry on the topic.
The previous visit of Abbas to Russia took place in November 2021. In last October, Russian President Vladimir Putin held a meeting with the Palestinian leader in Astana during the summit of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence Building Measures in Asia.
